Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Care Professional to provide respiratory care services in a hospital setting. The role requires an Associate's degree in respiratory therapy and licensure with CRT, plus BLS certification.

You will evaluate patient outcomes and communicate plans with the multidisciplinary team. The position involves implementing respiratory care plans, education to patients, and potential reassignment to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from Respiratory accredited program.
• CRT certification or current state licensure.
• BLS certification or CPR trained.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient outcomes making changes in plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
• Provides explanation/instructions to patients and/or responsible persons and ensures understanding with regard to respiratory disease processes, intervention procedures and discharge.
• Accepts Reassignment to other units when necessary.
• Plans, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory care.
• Provides respiratory care as ordered by physician keeping in communication with medical and nursing staff.
• Acts in accordance to Illinois 225 ILCS 106/Respiratory Care Practice Act, Section J: 'nothing in this Act shall be construed to limit an unlicensed practitioner in a licensed hospital who is working under the proximate supervision of a licensed health care personnel; providing direct patient care services.'
