Job summary

The position includes 0.6 FTE (48 hours/biweekly), 12‑hour day/night shifts, and an every 3rd weekend requirement. Eligible for shift differentials and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• A.A./A.S. in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field.
• Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by NBRC.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
• Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pulmonary Function tests on ages 5 years and older.
• Conduct 6 minute walk tests, ABG's, Methacholine testing, Pre/Post spirometry, DLCO, MIP/MEP, MVV, Pleth, nitrogen washout.
• Assess patient needs and identify expected outcomes.
• Implement respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
• Evaluate care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
• Deliver care as delegated by physician to assigned patient population.
• Use communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Operate and maintain all Respiratory Care equipment.

Education

A.A./A.S. in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field

Respiratory Therapist License (MN Board of Medical Practice)

Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months

Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 6 months

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months

Job Overview

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN. We’re offering a $9,000 sign-on bonus!

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.

Schedule

This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the day and night shift. There is currently an every 3rd weekend requirement.

• Shift differential incentives:
  • $4.00/hr for nights
  • $2.00/hr for weekends

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Perform Pulmonary Function test on ages 5 years and older.
• Perform 6 minute walk tests, ABG's, Methacholine testing, Pre/Post spirometry, DLCO, MIP/MEP, MVV, Pleth, nitrogen washout.
