Pima Medical Institute in Las Vegas is seeking a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist Instructor (16 hours per week) to join our CoARC-accredited program. The role transitions clinical expertise from the bedside to the classroom and lab, leading high-fidelity simulations and mentoring students in complex concepts.

The ideal candidate is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with an associate degree, an active Nevada license, and at least three years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Active, unrestricted Nevada State RCP license.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice as a Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Instruction & Simulation Leadership: lead instructional sessions and high-fidelity simulations.
• Lab & Lecture Delivery: develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans, labs, and demonstrations.
• Simulation Training: use simulation tech to create immersive learning environments.

Compensation: $31.00 - $38.75 per hour

Position Summary

Shape the future of respiratory care! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our CoARC-accredited Las Vegas program as a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist Instructor (16 hours/week).

In this role, you will transition your clinical expertise from the bedside to the classroom and lab. You will lead high-fidelity simulations, mentor students through complex clinical concepts, and guide practical demonstrations to ensure the next generation of Nevada's Practitioners are prepared for modern healthcare. This part-time schedule offers an ideal way to inspire future therapists while maintaining flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Instruction & Simulation Leadership:

Lab & Lecture Delivery: Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans, interactive lab sessions, and practical demonstrations tailored to diverse learning styles.

Simulation Training: Utilize modern simulation technology to create immersive, real-world learning environments for clinical skill mastery.

Field Integration: Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinical site insights to bridge classroom learning with bedside practice.

Retention & Support: Monitor student progress and attendance, serving as a mentor to support an 80%+ student success rate through proactive coaching.

Academic Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate student records, including weekly attendance logs and final course grades, in compliance with institutional policy.

Accreditation Compliance: Ensure all instructional activities adhere to CoARC accreditation standards and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Education:

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program.

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

Active, unrestricted Nevada State RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) license.

Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn institutional Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred Qualifications:

One (1) or more years of teaching experience in an accredited respiratory therapy program.

Strong classroom management and verbal/written communication skills.

Hiring Range: $31.00 to $38.75 per hour.

Schedule: Part-Time (16 hours per week).
