Job summary

Penn Medicine in Philadelphia is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Level 2 to provide comprehensive respiratory care across general, critical care, and emergency settings. This role participates in the HUP clinical advancement program and requires current PA license, NBRC credentials, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care required (CoARC-accredited).
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience (required).
• PA license and NBRC credentials must be active and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical assessment of a patient’s pulmonary status and make recommendations for respiratory care.
• Administer oxygen and specialized respiratory devices, including high-flow systems and hyperbaric chamber.
• Administer inhaled medications via nebulizer, MDI, DPI, or other devices.
• Evaluate and maintain artificial airways of varying sizes.
• Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation devices.
• Respond to emergencies and apply approved RT protocols as needed.
• Perform ABG tests and other diagnostic procedures to evaluate disease or treatment efficacy.
• Document patient care activities and maintain electronic records.

Education

CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program (Associate's degree)

Bachelor's degree (preferred)

Active PA license and NBRC credentials
