Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory care in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will work with adult, pediatric, and infant patients, supporting ventilator and airway management, ABG collection, and chest physiotherapy in line with department policies.

Requirements include PA licensure, RRT/CRT certification, and BLS; AC LS/PALS within 6 months; NICU NRP within 1 year where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of respiratory care experience.
• Strong teamwork abilities.
• Possesses a high degree of clinical ability, motivation, self-direction, and initiative.
• Good experience in all modalities of respiratory acute-care.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of all aspects of respiratory care per policy and procedures.
• Identify age-related factors when planning interventions.
• Utilize knowledge and best practices to provide respiratory care.
• Interact with patients while preserving dignity and privacy.
• Support staffing and self-scheduling guidelines.
• Contribute to Quality Improvement plans for patient care outcomes.
• Monitor and improve respiratory practices and patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate competency in all clinical modalities annually.
• Mentor students in clinical rotations.
• Collaborate with management for continual clinical improvement.
