Valley Health in Warren, MI is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II to join our Respiratory Therapy department on the Third Shift. The role involves patient assessments, implementing therapies per physician orders, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary health team across age groups.

Prerequisites include completion of an accredited respiratory care program, 2 years of experience, RCP license, BLS, ACLS or EKG/pharmacology, NBRC CRT/RRT certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited educational program for Respiratory Care is required.
• 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license is required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or EKG & Pharmacology course required.
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.

Responsibilities

• Administers all therapy modalities to patients per physician orders and/or protocols.
• Performs non-invasive SpO2 monitoring via pulse oximetry including overnight studies and exercise.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis and basic EHR documentation.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilation therapies.
• Performs regular patient assessments and coordinates with the care team.
• Provides thorough handoff reports at shift end and participates in rapid response and trauma activations.
