Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team in Des Moines, IA. The RT delivers comprehensive respiratory care for critically ill patients, participates in weaning and airway management, and supports quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires NBRC credentials, BLS, state licensure, ACLS within 6 months, and graduation proof. We offer strong orientation, tuition assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active NBRC credential (CRT or RRT) required.
• BLS certification required by start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend a treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care for critically ill patients.
• Insert/remove endotracheal tubes as needed.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Educate and counsel patients and families.

Compensation: $28.68 - $38.60 per hour

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift, PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
