Select Specialty Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide specialized respiratory care for critical illness recovery patients. The role offers full-time days and nights, with an hourly pay range and a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

The RT will evaluate patients, implement treatment plans, and participate in education for patients and families while supporting quality improvement initiatives and patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Active NBRC CRT or RRT credential required.
• Current state licensure required.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Proof of graduation (transcript/diploma or GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to critically ill patients.
• Insert and remove endotracheal tubes as needed.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Educate and counsel patients and families.

Schedule: Full Time Days and Nights are availableCompensation: $31.20 to $42.00 per hour based on experience plus competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends

• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift, PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire).

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
