Job summary

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include administering treatments, monitoring patients, educating families, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a credential in respiratory therapy is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions.
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management.
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Respiratory Therapy

• Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certificate of completion from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required.
• Licensure: New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician or Respiratory Therapist License
• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in respiratory care techniques and nursing procedures
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations and maintain a calm demeanor

Compensation :$50/hour
