Job summary

Qualifications

• ACLS certification is required within 1 year of hire.
• AS in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• New York State RT license with current registration or RTT license with NBRC credentials is required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates patient data and respiratory care orders.
• Assesses data from labs and imaging to guide care plans.
• Advises on appropriate respiratory care procedures for patients.
• Assembles and checks respiratory care equipment for proper function and cleanliness.
• Documents prescribed therapies and monitors patient response.
• Provides and documents patient education and staff preceptorship.
• Initiates and updates respiratory care plans per policy.
