Job summary

Logan Regional Medical Center in southern West Virginia seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver advanced respiratory care across the lifespan. The RRT will manage ventilator settings, perform diagnostics, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications include graduation from a two-year AMA-approved program leading to RRT eligibility, NBRC credential, and current state license, with ACLS/PALS/NRP per facility policy.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of respiratory pathophysiology, equipment, and treatment protocols.
• Excellent assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to function under pressure and during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages ventilator settings based on patient condition.
• Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, ECG interpretation support.
• Assists with rapid response and code blue interventions.
• Delivers age-specific therapy to neonates through geriatrics.
• Educates patients and staff on respiratory treatments and equipment.
• Leads or participates in staff orientation and competency evaluations.
• Maintains timely documentation of assessments, therapies, and outcomes.
• Ensures disinfection and proper maintenance of respiratory equipment.
• Participates in quality improvement and performance monitoring.
