Job summary

Kindred Hospital Dallas Central and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, skilled respiratory care per physician orders. You will monitor ventilators, perform ABG analyses, manage airway devices, and educate patients and families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires licensing (RCP) with ACLS/BCLS compliance and 1+ year of experience; bilingual or geriatric expertise desired.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary respiratory therapy program or associate degree required.
• RCP license required; CRT/RRT preferred.
• BCLS and ACLS required on hire or within facility time frame.
• 1+ year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care procedures in all hospital areas per policies and protocols.
• Document and maintain patient care elements and charge capture.
• Verify and initiate physician orders for respiratory care.
• Troubleshoot equipment; maintain sterilization and disinfection.
• Manage oxygen delivery, ventilation devices, and airway care.
• Perform ABG sampling and analysis; monitor hemodynamics as ordered.
• Provide patient/family education and handoff reports.
• Participate in clinical in-services, rounds, and team communications.
