Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to guide patients through routine and critical care, utilizing diagnostic and therapeutic ventilation across diverse settings. You will work with advanced respiratory technology and collaborate with a skilled care team to support patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include monitoring respiratory status, delivering evidence-based therapies, and educating patients and families while maintaining equipment and following

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start date.
• Neonate Resuscitation certification required within 1 year of start date.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 6 months of start date.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or allied field.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and determine need for interventions.
• Deliver oxygen therapy, aerosolized meds, airway clearance, and related treatments.
• Manage ventilation and airway support including invasive and noninvasive modes.
• Educate patients and families; act as clinical resource and collaborate with care team.
• Maintain and transport equipment; ensure infection-prevention standards.
