Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide in-home respiratory care across our national network. You will perform oxygen and ventilation equipment setups, educate patients and caregivers, and coordinate with physicians and care teams from our Accendra and Byram Healthcare brands.

Hybrid role with 50% office and 50% remote/home visits; hours 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. On-call once per month to support patient needs while maintaining documentation using iPad/laptop.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active license.
• Open to various experience levels; preference for experienced candidates.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects 10–50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable using mobile tech, navigation tools, and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment (oxygen, nebulization, PAP, ventilation).
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests (pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry).
• Perform other duties as required.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: Hybrid; 50% office, 50% remote/home visits.

• Reimbursements: Mileage $0.70, parking, tolls.
• Salary range $38.50 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

What you’ll do

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.
• Perform other duties as required.

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active SC RT license.
• Open to various experience levels; preference for experienced candidates.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
