Why this Respiratory Therapist role is different

This role offers a strong balance between branch‑based work and limited travel, with very low on‑call activity despite nightly coverage. It is ideal for experienced RTs who value stability, teamwork, and hands‑on patient care in a supportive environment.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On‑site; 70% in the branch, 30% on the road.
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, part time.
• Driving Distance: Up to 1.5 hours from branch; occasional support to Columbus, NC.
• Reimbursements: Mileage $0.70, parking, tolls.

Salary range

• $24 – $28 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

On‑Call transparency

• Nightly on‑call coverage with minimal activity; most calls are handled by phone.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO₂, spirometry and gather vital signs.
• Perform other duties as required.

What We Look For

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active SC RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10–50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
