Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's New Brunswick facility is seeking a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Care team for night shifts.

You will perform basic and advanced respiratory therapy, manage ventilator support, document in the EMR, and collaborate with physicians, nurses and the care team while ensuring compliance with hospital policies.

Applicants must be CRT or RRT, NBRC-approved school graduate, NJ license, BLS, and complete onboarding.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC.
• Current New Jersey State Respiratory Care License.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain per organizational requirements).

Responsibilities

• Performing basic and advanced respiratory therapy procedures within the scope of respiratory patient care services.
• Assessing patients and providing respiratory treatments based on physician orders and established clinical protocols.
• Transcribing and implementing physician orders accurately and efficiently.
• Administering oxygen therapy and monitoring patient response.
• Utilizing advanced assessment skills to identify changes in patient condition and adjust care as appropriate.
• Managing and monitoring patients requiring ventilator support.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Documenting patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
