Job summary

Corewell Health Trenton is seeking a part-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Night Shift team. Under minimal direction, you will implement and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to support physicians in patient care, plus participate in education for patients, staff and students.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC credentials, and state licensure.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required.
• NBRC credentialing required upon hire.
• State licensure required upon hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire (AHA or ARC).

Responsibilities

• Implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services.
• Assists physicians in diagnosis and management of CP-related disorders.
• Participates in education of patients, students, staff, and physicians.
• Provides technical support for respiratory care equipment and general department functions.

About Corewell Health Trenton Hospital

Corewell Health Hospital Trenton is a 193-bed acute care teaching hospital that sponsors nine university-affiliated residency programs. The hospital opened its doors to Trenton and its surrounding communities in 1961. It became part of Corewell Health in September 2014. In addition to providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients, the hospital offers all private beds, a medical and surgical intensive care unit and obstetrical care.

Scope of Work

Under minimal direction, the Registered Respiratory Therapist: implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participates in the education of patients, students, staff and physicians; provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care; assists with general department functions.

• Required Associate’s Degree Respiratory Therapy
• Eligible for position after attainment of RRT NBRC status. Required
• LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
