Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a part-time role on the Butterworth campus. You will perform evaluations, deliver interventions, document care, and support transitions to the next care steps.

The position requires an Associate’s in Respiratory Therapy, MI state licensure, NBRC CRT, ACLS and BLS certifications, with growth opportunities and full benefits. Sign-On bonus up to $15,000 for external candidates and new RT students.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Michigan state licensure required on hire.
• NBRC CRT Respiratory Therapist registry required on hire.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required on hire.

Responsibilities

Scope of Work

• Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards. Performs point of care testing as required.
• Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance. Assesses effectiveness of intervention and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
• Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe. Maintains competency in areas of accountability.
• Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.
• Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
• Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy
• Preferred Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy
• 2 years of relevant experience pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical education Required
• LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required
