Cross Country Medical Staffing Network seeks a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a Level I trauma center. The role covers pediatric, adult and geriatric care with airway and ventilator management critical to patient comfort.

You may float within scope to meet coverage needs. The position involves 12-hour night shifts, 36+ hours weekly; start 10/05/2026 and end 01/04/2027. Includes bedside bronchoscopies, intubation support, BiPAP/CPAP use, and compliance modules prior to start.

Qualifications

• RRT credential, BLS, and IL state license required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in adult critical care or ED.
• Proficient in airway management devices and oxygen therapy.
• Cerner charting experience.
• Float within scope as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care for pediatric patients in acute care setting.
• Manage airway, ventilator care, and patient safety for critical cases.
• Perform bedside bronchoscopies, airway suctioning, and intubation assistance.
• Work with advanced ventilator equipment including BiPAP and CPAP.
• Complete compliance modules and orientation requirements.

Job Summary:

Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) position in a Level I trauma center. This role involves providing respiratory care to pediatric patients within an acute care hospital setting, including adult and geriatric patient populations. The technician will be responsible for airway management, ventilator management, and ensuring airway safety and comfort for critical patients.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/05/2026 and ending on 01/04/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT), BLS certification, valid Illinois respiratory therapist license, 1 year minimum experience in adult critical care or emergency department, proficient in airway management devices and oxygen therapy, Cerner charting experience, and open to float within scope as needed.
• Preferred Qualifications: Teaching hospital experience, trauma level I and II experience, and community hospital experience.
• Additional Information: Will float if necessary; work involves bedside bronchoscopies, airway suctioning, intubation assistance, and working with advanced ventilator equipment including BiPAP and CPAP. Candidates must complete compliance modules prior to start and adhere to orientation requirements.
