Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Department of Medicine on a part-time basis, Tue-Fri, 7:30 AM–6 PM. The role includes providing respiratory support and performing pulmonary function tests as needed at MAP practice and Hutch location.

Under supervision, you will administer and monitor diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, maintain equipment, and travel to other sites based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Respiratory Care is required.
• Graduate of AMA respiratory therapist program.
• At least one year of experience.
• Current NYS respiratory therapist license.
• CRTT or RRT or registry eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory support to patients with cardiopulmonary abnormalities.
• Administer and monitor diagnostic and therapeutic modalities within the service’s scope.
• Conduct Pulmonary Function Tests primarily at the MAP practice, with occasional duties at Hutch location.
• Travel to other locations based on operational needs.

City/State: Bronx, New York Grant Funded: No Department: MED - Clinical Operations Bargaining Unit: 1199 Work Shift: Day Work Days: DAYS VARY Scheduled Hours: 7:30 AM-6 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 9.5 HOURS Hourly Rate: $58.05 For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

Respiratory Therapist Under the supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist or licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapist for the Department of Medicine will provide respiratory support to all patients with abnormalities of cardiopulmonary function. Administration and monitoring of all diagnostic and therapeutic modalities within the service’s scope of practice. The Respiratory Therapist will be required to conduct Pulmonary Function Tests primarily at the MAP practice, but will be required to provide PFT services at Hutch location as needed. This is a part-time position, Tuesday-Friday 7:30-6pm. 3400 Bainbridge Ave 2nd Floor. *Travel to other locations (Hutch) based on operational needs.

Job Requirements:

• Associates degree in Respiratory Care required
• Graduate of AMA a respiratory therapist program
• One year of experience required.
• Current NYS respiratory therapist license.
• CRTT or RRT or registry eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• BLS by the American Heart Association.

Equipment Operation:

• Pasteurmatic for the cleaning and disinfection of non-disposable respiratory care equipment.
• Oxygen and air cylinders and regulators
