Cross Country Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Respiratory Therapist (PEDS) for a day shift travel assignment in Colorado. The role focuses on pediatric respiratory care, ventilator management, and cardiopulmonary support in a busy clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will have RRT credential, NBRC registration, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and experience with ICU/NICU environments, arterial blood gas sampling, and pulmonary function testing. Shifts are 12 hours, with weekend/on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) credential.
• BLS required on hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders per physician’s order, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Monitor and record progress of treatments.
• Educate patients on respiratory disorders and appropriate medication use.
• Draw arterial blood gas samples for testing.
• Apply and monitor medical gases, humidifications, ventilators, CPR, airway management, and intubation/tracheotomy assistance.
• Perform diagnostic testing such as pulmonary function testing, ECGs, electroencephalograms, and home sleep testing.
• Share workload during 12-hour shifts, including inpatient hospital floor care and outpatient diagnostics, working extended shifts, and taking after-hours call including weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist (RT PEDS) — Days, the organization is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented registered respiratory therapist specializing in pediatric care. This role involves performing clinical procedures, managing ventilators, and supporting patients with cardiopulmonary disorders in a busy healthcare environment.

Job Details

• Education: Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy; Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC; BLS required on hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Training & Experience: Current, competent, and basic knowledge of intensive care and neonatal intensive care, including EKG, ABG, spirometry, and oximetry.
• Essential Functions:
  • Examine and treat patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders per physician’s order, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Monitor and record progress of treatments.
  • Educate patients on respiratory disorders and appropriate medication use.
  • Draw arterial blood gas samples for testing.
  • Apply and monitor medical gases, humidifications, ventilators, CPR, airway management, and intubation/tracheotomy assistance.
  • Perform diagnostic testing such as pulmonary function testing, electrocardiograms, electroencephalograms, and home sleep testing.

• Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• No minimum experience required.
• Position start date: 11/01/2026.
