Responsibilities:
- Perform respiratory care procedures under general supervision and medical direction, exercising judgment within departmental policies and physician's treatment plan.
- Assess residents' conditions, administer prescribed therapies and aerosolized medications, and monitor and record progress and responses.
- Provide in-service training to residents, families, and staff, ensuring care meets the physical and psychological needs of adult and geriatric populations.
- Manage life support systems, including airway care, artificial ventilators, and emergency resuscitation procedures.
- Conduct assessments using physical examination, lab results, radiology, and pulmonary testing to develop care plans.
- Prepare and check physician orders, review patient history, and observe and document vital signs and responses.
- Administer respiratory therapies, adjust equipment for comfort and effectiveness, and document all care provided.
- Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Participate in emergency procedures and be CPR certified.
- Educate residents and families on respiratory procedures to promote cooperation and understanding.
- Attend educational programs, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and contribute to quality assurance efforts.
- Perform administrative duties related to respiratory care and assist in equipment maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an NBRC-accredited respiratory therapy program and at least one year of clinical practice under medical supervision.
- Current NBRC certification, State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, and BLS certification.
Posted Salary Range: USD $33.87 - USD $37.22 /Hr.
