Qualifications

Job description

Role Overview

The Respiratory Therapist RRT provides advanced respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions within physician prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, obtain arterial gases, troubleshoot equipment, and initiate respiratory protocols.

Administer medications safely, monitor patient progress, and communicate findings to healthcare team.

Educate patients and families on self-care, document care accurately, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.

Serve as a resource, mentor staff, and contribute to departmental improvements and research activities.

May float to other departments and be on‑call as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program, NBRC registered (RRT), with current state license, BLS, and relevant certifications (e.g., PALS, ACLS).

Must have strong communication, manual dexterity, physical ability to lift/move patients and equipment, and ability to work in busy, dynamic environments.

Additional Details

Full‑time, night shifts, with benefits including health, vision, dental, and 401(k). Salary range is $32.02 - $49.44 per hour based on experience.
