Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program.
  • Registered by NBRC and hold a valid state license.
  • Current BLS certification; additional certifications such as PALS, ACLS, or NRP are required.
  • Strong communication skills, manual dexterity, and physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
  • Ability to work in busy environments, navigate crowded spaces, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including arterial gases, and troubleshoot equipment for optimal patient care.
  • Administer medications safely, assess effects, and communicate patient progress to healthcare teams.
  • Monitor patient conditions, share information with physicians and nurses, and recommend appropriate care and education for patients and families.
  • Complete accurate documentation, manage supplies, and utilize time efficiently to meet productivity standards.
  • Participate in quality, safety initiatives, and process improvements, acting as a mentor and resource within the department.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, research, and quality improvement activities.
  • May float to other departments within scope, be placed on-call, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Role Overview

The Respiratory Therapist RRT provides advanced respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary deficiencies within physician prescriptions. They serve as a resource to CRT staff and may lead special clinical projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
