Job summary

You will administer treatments, monitor residents, assess respiratory status, and communicate changes to nursing staff and providers to ensure safety and effectiveness. Active CRT or RRT license and BLS are required; ACLS preferred; experience in skilled nursing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license (CRT or RRT) in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered by the physician.
• Assess and monitor resident respiratory status during routine treatments and rounds.
• Identify changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing and providers.
• Assist with management of oxygen therapy and oxygen equipment.
• Monitor residents utilizing respiratory devices and therapies.
• Perform routine respiratory assessment including breath sounds and oxygen saturation.
• Recognize early signs of respiratory decline and communicate as needed.

Respiratory Therapist Essential Duties

• Provide respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered by the physician
• Assess and monitor resident respiratory status during routine treatments and rounds
• Identify changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing and providers
• Assist with management of oxygen therapy and oxygen equipment
• Monitor residents utilizing respiratory devices and therapies
• Perform routing respiratory assessment including breath sounds, respiratory effort, oxygen saturation, and treatment effectiveness
• Recognize early sign of respiratory decline and initiate appropriate communication and intervention

Respiratory Qualifications

Required

• Current Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) license in good standing
• Current BLS certification

Preferred

• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or post-acute care
• ACLS certification
