TriHealth's Bethesda North Hospital is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-acuity, autonomous care across inpatient and outpatient settings, including ventilator management, advanced life support, and neonatal care. Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program.
  • BLS required; ACLS if performing intubations.
  • NBRC registry or RRT credential.
  • RCP licensure in Ohio.
  • 3–4 years in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Performs respiratory care in all patient care settings with advanced practice in critical care.
  • Manages ventilators and arterial/airway procedures for adults and neonates.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in specialized clinical procedures to diagnose, treat, and improve patient situations.
  • Documents care, updates work lists, and submits charges by shift end.
  • Acts as preceptor in clinical training of residents, nurses, and students.

Bethesda North Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy team practices in a large, growing tertiary hospital and regional heart center licensed for approximately 397 beds. Our RTs deliver high‑acuity, autonomous respiratory care across inpatient and outpatient settings, including advanced ventilator management, intubation, and active involvement in cardiac surgery recovery, LVAD care, and ECMO ramping. Bethesda North is recognized regionally for excellence in cardiac care and holds Blue Distinction recognition for cardiac services; the campus also serves as the designated trauma center for northern Cincinnati, giving therapists broad exposure to complex, time‑sensitive cases and opportunities for clinical growth. We are a servant‑led, team‑focused department that emphasizes professional development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and clinical leadership.

Job Overview

Provides respiratory care in all patient care settings, also includes duties of those of an RRT, with specialized knowledge and skills in the areas of Critical Care, Airway management, Advanced Life Support and Mechanical Ventilation of all ages. Responsibilities include first‑line adult or neonatal intubation, transport of newborns, and acts as a preceptor in the clinical training of residents, nurses, and students in the advanced practice of pulmonary medicine and therapeutic procedures.

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), and ACLS if performing intubations
  • NBRC registry or RRT
  • RCP licensure in Ohio
  • 3-4 years experience in a related field
Job Responsibilities
  • Performs all necessary documentation, updates work lists, and submits all charges by the end of the shift.
  • Demonstrates skill and proficiency in the management of the Respiratory Evaluation Protocol Program.
  • Demonstrates proficiency as specialist in ventilator management and critical care for adults and neonates.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and competency in the management of adult and neonatal airways.
  • Demonstrates proficiencies as specialist in recommending, initiating and performing specialized clinical procedures to help diagnose, treat and/or improve patient situations.
Other Job-Related Information

Must do at least one intubation per quarter and a total of six per year. Must also maintain a 90% success rate over a year period or repeat an OR.
