Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for Ball Memorial Hospital on the Day Shift. You will work with nurses and clinical specialists to evaluate and treat cardiopulmonary conditions and advocate for patients.

This full-time role offers a $30,000 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates and relocation assistance up to $10,000, with every third weekend/holiday rotation and strong opportunities for advancement and education.

Qualifications

• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Indiana.
• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.
• NBRC registry exam passed within 6 months of hire date (1 year post-graduation ok).
• Healthcare Provider Certification; other advanced life support may be required per unit.
• ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and effective written/verbal communication.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information.
• Basic computer skills and EMR proficiency.

About This Position:

• Full time, Day Shift

Our Respiratory Therapists (RT) work closely with our patients to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders ranging in modalities and demographics. We are also responsible for collaborating with various different entities in the hospital setting including nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, and Clinical Specialists to ensure total customer happiness and support.

Requirements:

• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Requires that the N.B.R.C. (National Board for Respiratory Care) registry exam be passed within 6 months of hire date. The 6-month requirement for the RRT is void if hire date is one year past graduation date.
• Requires Healthcare Provider Certification. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification.
• Requires strong customer service skills.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires the ability to deal with confidential patient information.
• Requires basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.
