Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Bedford Hospital location. This part-time weekend role offers a night shift differential and a $30,000 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, collaborating with nurses and clinical teams, and supporting patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires current Indiana Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited RT program.
• NBRC Registry exam must be passed within 6 months of hire (void if hire date >1 year after graduation).
• Healthcare Provider Certification; other advanced life support may be required per unit/policies.
• Preferred ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information and use EMR.

About This Position:

• Part time, Weekends

• Every Friday and Saturday, 6pm-6:30am
• Location: Bedford Hospital

Our Respiratory Therapists (RT) work closely with our patients to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders ranging in modalities and demographics. We are also responsible for collaborating with various different entities in the hospital setting including nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, and Clinical Specialists to ensure total customer happiness and support.

Requirements:

• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Requires that the N.B.R.C. (National Board for Respiratory Care) registry exam be passed within 6 months of hire date. The 6-month requirement for the RRT is void if hire date is one year past graduation date.
• Requires Healthcare Provider Certification. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification.
• Requires strong customer service skills.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires the ability to deal with confidential patient information.
• Requires basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.
