Job summary

St. Luke's Health System in Idaho seeks a Patient Educator to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient education programs. You will teach patients, coordinate education with other disciplines, and update teaching materials to meet learning needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in Respiratory Therapy or Associate's with 2 extra years experience.
• Experience: 2 years experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid respiratory therapy license and current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Teaches and provides support to patients based on learning needs and abilities.
• Coordinates patient education with other disciplines related to the program.
• Reviews and updates patient teaching materials for the program.
• Assists patients in developing skills to manage their disease through behavior modification.
• Provides comprehensive education to clients who self-select learning opportunities.
• Provides individualized patient teaching based on patient needs.
• Assists in development, implementation, and evaluation of goals, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
