Job summary

Equiliem seeks a dedicated Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist with strong ICU experience to support adult critical care and ED operations. You will manage ventilation strategies, airway interventions, and diagnostics while floating between ED and ICU as needed.

Ideal candidates have ACLS/BLS/PALS and NJ license, with experience in ARDS, COVID, pneumonia, and CF. Epic charting is required, and travel or local options may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience in adult ICU, ED settings and critical care environments.
• Proficient in respiratory and neuro diagnostics in acute care.
• Familiar with airway management and ventilator weaning.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory and neuro diagnostic care in ICU/ED.
• Manage vents including BiPAP/CPAP and high-frequency strategies.
• Float between ED and Adult ICUs within skillset as needed.
• Adhere to charting in Epic and facility policies.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of respiratory and neuro diagnostics and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Scheduling Details and Charting

• Charting: Epic required
• Shift: 19:00-07:30
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• RTO, Block & Scheduling Requests: Priority given to submits with a screenshot confirming RTO and schedule requests. No requests will be approved after offer.
• Call Off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays, if needed
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted: Yes, Locals accepted

Unit Details and Floating

• Scrubs: To be determined
• Floating: Candidates must float within their skillset without exception. Will float between: ED; Adult ICUs

Required Experience & Clinical Skills

• Experience Required: 1.5 yrs strong overall ICU experience
• Work Settings: Adult Critical Care; Emergency Department (PICU/NICU experience highly preferred)
• Care of Patient With: ARDS; Aspiration; COVID; Cystic fibrosis; Pneumonia
• Vent Management: BiPAP; CPAP; Flow-by; High-frequency jet ventilator/oscillator; IMV; SIMV; Troubleshoot high-pressure alarms; Wean from mechanical ventilation
• Airway Management: Extubation; Intubation assist; Nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning; Sputum specimen collection; Suctioning (ETT, NT); Tracheostomy care/management
• General Skills: Bronchoscopy; Draw/interpret ABGs; ET tube; HFNC; Hand-held/heated nebulizer; T-piece/trach collar; iNO
• Neonatal/Pediatrics: CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP; High-frequency jet ventilator; Oscillating ventilator

Required License and Certifications

• License: Active New Jersey license required
• Required Certifications: ACLS; BLS; PALS; RRT (CRT not accepted)
