Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support patient assessment using pulmonary diagnostics, blood gas analysis, and ventilator management across critical and non-critical care areas.

You will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, educate patients on therapy goals and home care, and ensure equipment safety and compliance with safety standards. This role requires an associate degree and relevant licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with an associate degree or higher.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the state of practice.
• Active NBRC credentials (RRT within 12 months or CRT if credentialed before 2023).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using respiratory therapy processes and related diagnostics.
• Operate ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues; assist physicians with bedside procedures.
• Provide medications and therapies per physician orders and respiratory protocols.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and service equipment; request repairs as needed.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose, technique, self-care, and disease management.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide education on patient management.
