Job summary

Qualifications

• RCP license in the state where you practice.
• Active NBRC RRT or CRT credential, or current certification if before 2023.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA.
• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with an associate degree or higher.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Use respiratory therapy processes to assess patients with diagnostics, labs, and blood gases.
• Operate ventilators in critical and non-ICU settings and assist physicians.
• Provide prescribed medication treatments and therapies per orders.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and arrange service if needed.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care.
• Collaborate with departments to support patient care and education.
• Follow policies and adapt to various service areas while maintaining standards.
• Communicate clearly and provide accurate patient handoffs.
• Promote patient safety and report safety events or near misses.
• Teach and precept new teammates and students.
• Assess age-specific patient needs and use age-appropriate data.
