Job summary

Northwell Health in Norwalk, CT is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform clinical evaluation and deliver respiratory care as required. The role focuses on patient assessment, ventilator support, and therapy administration across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.

You will document treatment, participate in CQI, educate patients and families, and maintain licensure and credentials while upholding infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program. BLS.
• Minimum experience: one year.
• Licensure in Connecticut as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
• Maintain Registry Credential from the NBRC.
• Maintain Connecticut State Licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory support for patients on ventilators (adults, pediatrics, and neonatal).
• Performs therapeutic modalities with appropriate rationale.
• Monitors ECG, labs, and ventilator graphics to guide care.
• Implements Respiratory Care procedures and evaluates therapies.
• Delivers patient education and assists with orders and calibrations.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Supports infection control and equipment readiness; contributes to CQI.
