Job summary

Mercy Health Youngstown, OH, is seeking a Respiratory Aide II to support licensed therapists in providing basic respiratory care to non-acute patients. The role includes cleaning and maintaining respiratory supplies, assembling equipment, and keeping a clean, organized work area.

Under supervision, the candidate may perform blood draws, oxygen delivery setup, and non-invasive monitoring. Requires current AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program status or recent graduation and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to organize and maintain clean, functional work areas and inventories.
• Adept at accurate record-keeping and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, draw arterial/capillary blood samples and process results.
• Set up and monitor non-invasive equipment like oximeters and CO2 analyzers.
• Provide basic respiratory therapies: aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, chest physiotherapy, CPAP/BiPAP as applicable.
• Perform EKGs and understand monitoring, lead placement, and basic arrhythmias.
