SUMMARY: Under general direction, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II is an advanced professional health care provider responsible for delivering Respiratory Care services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within a specified scope of practice. Performs related duties as required.

Education: Graduate from a CoARC-supported or CAAHEP-accredited respiratory care program with 62 semester hours, or a baccalaureate degree in another field, or an Associate of Arts or Science degree.
Licenses/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC; current license from the Respiratory Care Board of California; ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications from AHA.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of recent (20+ hours/week) work experience as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Respiratory Care Practitioners grandfathered into HGH RCPII with maintained credentials are exempt from some educational and NBRC requirements. Therapists in Pulmonary Function Labs must complete the Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist Exam.
$58.08 - $74.90 per hour. Compensation is based on experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, bargaining agreements, and operational needs. Alameda Health System offers a comprehensive benefits package.
