Job summary

Saint Peter’s Health Care System is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide comprehensive respiratory therapy in a hospital setting. The role covers diagnostic tests, oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation across neonatal to geriatric populations, with emphasis on policy-based care and patient-centered outcomes.

The candidate must hold NJ licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, NBRC registration (RRT), and BLS; PALS within 30 days of start is required, with NRP encouraged

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved one-year Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed by the NJ Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and NBRC-registered RT (RRT).
• Competent in pediatric to geriatric respiratory care procedures.
• PALS and BLS credentials current or within required window.

Responsibilities

• Provide all aspects of therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care per standards and hospital policies.
• Administer oxygen therapy per policy.
• Perform diagnostic tests appropriate to patient age and life cycle stage.
• Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation as needed.
• Maintain, evaluate, and operate respiratory care equipment.
• Respond to hospital emergencies related to respiratory care.
• Participate in education and department meetings and student supervision.
