Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 7P-7A night shift at St John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. The role involves operating and maintaining respiratory care equipment, administering patient care, and documenting activity in the EMR.

The candidate must hold NBRC RBRT/RRT credentials and be licensed or eligible to licensure in IL. Education requirements include a Diploma/Associate in Respiratory Therapy; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Job description

Pay Range: $32.58 - $48.87 A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education. Conducts basic physician prescribed treatments and demonstrates competence in respiratory equipment related to respiratory care-based practice. Operates and maintains respiratory care equipment, administers patient care, and documents the practice activity in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) at the required level of competence in accordance with scope of practice, departmental policies and procedures, HIPAA standards, and quality assurance guidelines.

Education Qualifications
  • Diploma or an Associate's degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy from an Accredited Respiratory Care Education Program is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • License must be obtained within 6 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
