Job summary

The Lead Therapist will oversee staffing, training, equipment readiness, and the implementation of evidence-based practices, while collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes. ACLS within one year, NBRC RRT credential and NY license are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate.
• 3–5 years of clinical experience in Respiratory Care.
• New York State Respiratory Therapist license with current registration.
• Current NBRC RRT credential is required for all Respiratory Therapists entering the field after 9/1993.
• ACLS certification (current) required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Shift Leadership: Lead huddles, manage staffing levels, ensure equipment, support team, document activities.
• Clinical Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex patient care issues through analysis and collaboration.
• Care Process Improvement: Evaluate and modify patient care systems to enhance delivery and implement best practices.
• Staff Guidance & Support: Provide expert consultation and direction on patient care and documentation.
• Research & Evidence-Based Practice: Engage in clinical research and apply evidence-based practices.
