Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in the United States is seeking a Patient Care Associate to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct unit coordination under RN supervision. You will perform basic nursing procedures for patients in stable condition and support acutely ill patients while maintaining medical asepsis and patient dignity.

You will document care in the electronic medical record, participate in safety initiatives, and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic reading, writing and math; ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to train and learn nursing procedures.
• CPR certification may be required by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care such as ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection.
• Participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Document vital signs, I&O, restraints, specimens; report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with unit activities such as stocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
