Seattle Public Schools seeks a Special Education Classroom Teacher assigned to the Resource service pathway. Under the principal or program manager, you will foster an effective learning environment, set objectives for special education students, provide instruction, counseling, and supervision to meet individual needs, and evaluate progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with preparation to teach diverse students in urban settings.
  • Experience in teaching reading and adapting instructional practices for diverse learners preferred.
  • Ability to design and implement effective instruction for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a learning environment conducive to the growth of students with special needs.
  • Plan instructional programs and develop lesson plans aligned to IEP goals.
  • Provide instruction, counseling, and supervision to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians and specialists to support student progress.
  • Attend required staff meetings and contribute to district initiatives.
