Job summary

MiTek Industries seeks a Production Scheduler to prioritize and manage work orders across centers, releasing SAP S/4HANA driven requirements and ensuring material readiness to meet schedules.

You will partner with production supervisors, purchasing, and inventory teams to balance capacity, resolve shortages, and maintain data integrity while keeping WIP on track and customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in related field; years of experience allowed as substitute.
• 2+ years in production scheduling, planning, or production control.
• CPIM and/or lean exposure a plus.
• Strong communication across functions; ability to generate routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and manage work orders across centers; release SAP-driven requirements.
• Monitor WIP, past-due orders, and schedule adherence to meet demand.
• Balance capacity; identify constraints and escalate risks to commitments.
• Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, and cross-functional teams for material readiness.
• Maintain ERP data integrity; resolve BOM and inventory discrepancies.
• Provide real-time scheduling support to production supervisors.

Job Responsibilities & RequirementsJob Profile SummaryResponsible for prioritizing and managing work orders across assigned work centers. This includes releasing MRP-driven production requirements in SAP S/4HANA, ensuring material readiness, and sequencing work to meet production schedules. Partners closely with production supervisors to optimize shop floor execution and meet customer and service requirements.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely completion of work orders to meet customer demand, including managing WIP flow and past-due ordersMonitor and drive performance against key metrics (schedule adherence, OTIF, inventory accuracy)Balance capacity across work centers, identify constraints, and escalate risks to production or customer commitmentsAdjust priorities and reschedule work in response to material shortages, downtime, or expedited ordersEnsure material availability by coordinating with purchasing and inventory teamsMaintain ERP data integrity by identifying and resolving discrepancies (e.g., BOM errors, inventory issues)Provide real-time support to production supervisors to resolve scheduling and material challengesRelease, track, and close work orders in SAP based on MRP and customer demandCoordinate with cross-functional partners on production status and issues: Manufacturing Engineering - changes, Quality – reworks, and Maintenance – downtime impacts.Support inventory accuracy through transaction management, issue resolution, and cycle countsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsAssociate’s degree in related field required. Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis2+ years in production scheduling, planning, or production control required.CPIM and/or lean manufacturing experience or exposure a plus.Strong ability to communicate clearly across functions and interpret production-related documents. Write effective routine reports and cross-functional correspondence.Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and identify trendsProficiency in SAP (S/4HANA ERP/MRP system) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Basic mathematical skills required.Physical DemandsThis role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes.
