Job summary

MiTek Industries in Houston, TX is seeking a Material Coordinator to ensure accurate receipt, labeling, and storage of incoming materials. You will deliver raw materials to production areas and transport job materials with travelers to the correct work centers, preparing outbound shipments and documentation for customer orders.

The role requires ability to pull parts from inventory, issue to work orders, stage for shipping, and move WIP between centers.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Up to 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems preferred.
• RF scanner experience preferred.
• Class A CDL and DOT Hazardous Materials handling certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pull parts from inventory and issue to work orders.
• Deliver raw materials to production areas and to designated work centers.
• Move WIP materials between work centers after each operation.
• Prepare outgoing shipments and accompanying documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Attend the scheduled shift on time and ready to work.

Job Responsibilities & RequirementsHours: 9:30AM - 6PMThe Material Coordinator ensures the accurate receipt of all incoming materials, proper labeling, and storage in designated locations. Delivers raw materials and purchased items to production areas as needed, and transports job materials along with job travelers to the appropriate work centers. Prepares outgoing shipments and associated documentation for parts orders to customers.Responsibilities:Pull parts from inventory, issue them to work orders, and deliver to the appropriate work centersRetrieve parts for sales orders and stage them for shippingMove work-in-process (WIP) materials between work centers upon completion of each operationMaintain clean and organized work areaAttendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.Qualifications:High School/GED requiredEquivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basisUp to 1 Year of related experience requiredKnowledge of Windows Operating Systems preferredPrior RF Scanner experience preferredAble to use Microsoft Office ApplicationsClass A; DOT certification for Hazardous Material Handling and shipping (as assigned) preferredCertified Forklift Operator preferredSoft Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationPhysical Demands:This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, walk up stairs and crouch.
