Job summary

MiTek Industries is seeking a Production Area Manager to lead a manufacturing zone, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while meeting delivery and cost targets. You will guide supervisors, manage staffing and training, and coordinate production planning with ERP/MRP systems.

The role requires strong leadership, process improvement mindset, and experience with manufacturing operations and capital planning to improve safety and efficiency. This position is based in our Florida facility.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or related field required.
  • 5+ years manufacturing management or production planning experience required.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems required; SAP S4/Hana experience preferred.

  • Ensure safety compliance and quality assurance programs; assist with machine setup and production checks.

  • Monitor inventory to plan production needs and create schedules.
  • Direct, mentor, and evaluate supervisors and production associates.

Job Responsibilities & RequirementsA Brief OverviewManage and lead a production area in order to meet safety, quality, customer experience, production output and cost control objectives directly and through supervisors. Provide direction and leadership to the facility/area operations. May also involve developing manpower requirements, identifying potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action, and supervising the performance of program functional task elements such as quality assurance, safety, and training.ResponsibilitiesLead and ensure safety compliance in the assigned area and in accordance with company requirements and best practicesEnsure compliance with quality assurance programs including physically checking production and assisting with machine set-ups.Consistently lead teams to meet production and/or shipping goals to meet or exceed customer demand.Coordinate and oversee training for safety and manufacturing operations.Monitor inventory levels necessary to create production plans in order to meet requirements.Direct, assist and evaluate supervisors and production associates in both daily and long term requirements and goals.Ability to interact professionally with others including co-workers, vendors and customers.Ability to prioritize issues, analyze situations and implement effective corrective actions.Monitors and maintains efficiencies to achieve best cost and on-time delivery.Review and approve employee time and schedules, including overtime management.Leads continuous improvement initiatives.Assists with Capital Expenditure planning to improve safety and operational efficiencies.Assists with equipment troubleshooting and communications with maintenance on needs.Leadership ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the professional development of team members, playing a key role in guiding, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to support team members in reaching their full potential.Create a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration, respects diverse perspectives, and empowers team members to excel in their roles.Actively work to eliminate barriers to inclusion and ensures that all team members have equal opportunities for growth and contribution.QualificationsAssociates Related Field required5+ Years of manufacturing management and/or production planning experience requiredEquivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basisStrong skills and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems required. SAP S4/Hana experience preferred.Additional Requirements5% of time traveling as necessary for training, meetings, and to assist other facilities.Physical DemandsThis role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes.
