Our modern and comfortable pK-12 school is located near the coast of Maine, with a total of just over 144 students. As a Special Education teacher, you will work with our Director of Student Services, supportive administration, general and special education colleagues, and our highly skilled staff of Ed. Certification as a Special Education teacher (282) or qualified to be certified within the first year.
Vinalhaven is seeking a teacher for our students in grades K-5. They are responsible for overseeing the delivery of services in students' Individualized Education Plans and providing specialized instruction to ensure that each student progresses in meeting IEP goals. The ability to relate positively to students, parents, and staff is essential to this position.
We have a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who consults directly with the teacher in this position to assist with teaching and behavior intervention programs. The full-time director of special education will meet regularly with the teacher and behavior analyst of this position to troubleshoot regarding student and staff needs.
