Remote Special Education Teacher for Virtual Learning Environment - Lansing MI - K-5 Resource Room

VocoVision is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our virtual instruction team supporting students in Lansing, Michigan. This role involves providing special education services to elementary students in a resource room setting through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

Position Details
  • 37.5 hours per week, aligned with typical school hours
  • Elementary resource room support for K-5 students
  • Caseload of approximately 45-55 students with mild to moderate learning disabilities
Core Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement IEPs for virtual students
  • Create engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with standards and IEP goals
  • Monitor student progress and collect data
  • Collaborate with general education teachers on accommodations
  • Conduct virtual small group and individual instruction
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions
  • Participate in virtual IEP meetings with families and team members
  • Support students in general education classrooms as needed
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Active Michigan special education teaching license
  • At least 2 years of school-based special education experience
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation
  • Proficiency with virtual teaching tools and educational technology
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable high-speed internet and quiet workspace
