Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a full-time, day-shift role. The position requires 1–2 years of Med/Surg experience, BLS, and active RN licensure (multi-state licensure where applicable).

The area supports self-scheduling and occasional floating to meet patient care needs. Responsibilities include nursing process, patient and family engagement, documentation, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required or preferred.
• BLS certification required; RN license active in IL or multi-state license.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and hospital software.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Uphold a culture of safety and participate in ongoing education.
• Document accurately in the EHR and collaborate with the care team.
• May float to other units within the service area as required.
