Job summary

Hamilton Memorial Hospital District in Illinois seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical/Surgical Unit. This full-time position offers 12-hour day shifts (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital setting with a strong patient-care focus.

Requirements include an Illinois RN license, ADN required with BSN preferred, CPR certification, and a drug screen/background check. EPIC EMR experience is preferred; ACLS/PALS on-site training is available.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
• Current RN license with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Maintain all required certifications as outlined in the scope of services for the assigned department.
• EPIC EMR experience is preferred.
• ADN required, BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs the primary functions of a registered nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients ages newborn through geriatric.
• Responsible for meeting established standards of nursing care.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and recovery processes.
• Implement infection control measures to maintain a safe environment for patients.
• Assist with airway management and other critical interventions as necessary.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in the medical records system.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
