Resource and Capacity Manager

Risk & Regulatory Consulting, LLC ("RRC")

(Remote-US based location)

Note: 5-10+ years of relevant experience in Big 4, consulting, or professional services firm is required for this position.

Position Description

The Resource and Capacity Manager will optimize the allocation of time and expertise across client engagements, ensuring balanced workloads. Responsibilities include matching capacity with project needs, forecasting staffing needs, and monitoring resource utilization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Key Objectives
  1. Minimize under-utilization or overwork of external client servers through dynamic resource planning.
  2. Align project staffing with skills and availability.
  3. Maintain real-time visibility of resource status.
  4. Support forecasting with realistic timelines.
  5. Collaborate with external client servers to stay within budgets.
  6. Resolve resource conflicts and foster a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement resource management strategies.
  • Coordinate with service line leaders for resource needs.
  • Monitor and analyze resource utilization, providing recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of resource allocation.
  • Report on resource status to Leadership.
  • Identify and resolve resource issues.
  • Evaluate and optimize resource management tools.
  • Act as liaison between service lines and Leadership.
  • Use data to inform staffing decisions.
  • Flag potential delivery risks early.
  • Plan proactively for scenarios like new client contracts.
  • Identify opportunities to utilize staff during downtime.
  • Leverage reporting systems to analyze time and resource usage.
  • Utilize technological tools, including AI, to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR, or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience in professional services.
  • Experience in resource management, ideally in a similar sector.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to grow and improve continuously.

Our salary ranges are based on experience, skills, and location, and may vary. The range for this role is $92,600 - $159,000. Candidates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
