Position Purpose: This part-time Resource (Foster) Parent Respite position involves caring for youth victims of human trafficking, specifically CSEC, in a community home. The organization, Present Help in the Time of Trouble Refuge, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides placement and support services for CSEC youth in partnership with the City of Philadelphia.

Job Summary: The individual will oversee the operation of the community home and the well-being of up to four CSEC youth, providing coverage when the Resource Foster Parent is unavailable, including occasional overnight or live-in visits. Responsibilities include maintaining routines, facilitating access to healthcare and education, setting rules, and ensuring confidentiality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing a safe, nurturing, and stable environment
  • Building trusting relationships with children
  • Maintaining a trauma-informed atmosphere
  • Meeting basic needs: meals, clothing, hygiene
  • Transportation to appointments and visitations
  • Monitoring group meetings and supporting emotional well-being
  • Fostering healthy relationships and respecting cultural backgrounds
  • Participating in case meetings and sharing observations
  • Ensuring access to healthcare and education
  • Managing challenging behaviors with positive reinforcement
  • Maintaining confidentiality and dignity
  • Engaging in ongoing training on human trafficking, trauma-informed care, and best practices

Ideal candidates will have experience or knowledge in working with children, crisis management, LGBTQ+ exposure, or related foster and youth services.
