Job summary

KidsPeace is seeking a compassionate Family Resource Specialist to recruit and support foster parents, raise community awareness, and ensure readiness for calls to care for children in need. The role emphasizes relationship-building, outreach, and ongoing support within a mission-driven team.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human services field.
• Experience in foster care, adoption, or family-serving systems preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Create awareness of the need for local foster parents via paid and unpaid advertising, and by representing KidsPeace in community-based activities and events to create visibility about foster care
• Recruit, interview, and evaluate foster parent candidates according to state and KidsPeace requirements.
• Participate in training efforts to teach those parents the skills and knowledge about the foster care system and the children we serve
• Support foster parent recognition, retention and satisfaction through various office and community events
• Fundraise and create awareness of the ongoing need of resources and supports for local foster youth

Position Overview

KidsPeace invites you to join our mission-driven team of professionals who provide hope, help, and healing to children, adults and those who love them. Anyone can "make a living" but we make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve! Our Family Resource Specialist ensures a pool of available local foster parents ready to care for children when the call comes.

• Create awareness of the need for local foster parents via paid and unpaid advertising, and by representing KidsPeace in community-based activities and events to create visibility about foster care
• Recruit, interview, and evaluate foster parent candidates according to state and KidsPeace requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human services degree required;
• Prior experience in foster care, adoption, or other family serving systems preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic Computer skills
• Valid Driver's license and registered vehicle-able to work independently in the field
• Must be 21
